Upon launching Active@ KillDisk Users will notice that there is a "wipe" and "erase" function available. The difference between the two is not immediately recognizable.
The Wipe Command processes all logical drives consecutively erasing data in unoccupied areas (free clusters and system areas) and leaving existing data intact. Unallocated space (where no partition exists) has been erased as well.
The Erase Command will completely destroy all data on the target drive or partition, making it unrecoverable depending on the erase method used.
More information on both these functions can be found in the KillDisk User Guide.
