How to add a printer in Linux systems and prepare it to print labels.
These steps can be followed for most label printers. We will be using a Zebra printer in this example.
1. Connect the printer to the computer using the USB interface or to the local network using the network interface
2. Start printer configuration utility
Press the Start button > Administration > Printers.

3. Press the Add button

4. Choose Zebra printer in devices list or enter location of the network printer

• For USB connection printer displays in device list. Select Zebra printer.
• For network connection select Network Printer > AppSocket/HP JetDirect and enter network
address in Host field.
Press Forward button for continue.
5. Choose your printer manufacturer in the devices list
Make sure your printer is connected to your workstation. Select your printer and press the Forward button.

4. Choose your printer driver model
Select the model of your printer driver and press the Forward button.

6. Edit the printer description (optional)
If necessary edit the printer description and press the Apply button.

7. Edit the printer properties
Double-click on the printer icon to open the printer properties.

Specify the necessary printer attributes for printing as shown in the figure below and press the OK button to apply changes. Make sure to match your label size to your KillDisk Industrial settings and physical paper size.

Now your printer is installed and ready to print.
