I deleted a file. How long do I have before data recovery is no longer possible?

It is not possible to predict a time like this in hours or days.

Microsoft Windows can overwrite a deleted file immediately if it selects the same data clusters.

To maximize recovery chances try not to write anything onto the drive where a deleted file is located before you start using recovery software.
